Joni Lamb is executive producer and co-host of Celebration, the daily flagship program of the Daystar Television Network, which she and husband Marcus, the network’s CEO, founded, built, and operate. The Lambs own more than 50 television stations reaching 75 million homes in the U.S. and every country across the globe, and theirs is the fastest-growing Christian television network in the world.

Joni also hosts the lively and sometimes unpredictable half-hour daily talk show bearing her name, which earned the National Religious Broadcast Association’s Best Talk Show Award in 2004. Enjoyable read

I found this book to be a very easy read. I enjoyed it very much. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It's uplifting, warm, encouraging, and I would highly recommend it to others.

Surrender All is a well written book and it tell about the author and her family and many more on her TV show. Joni Lamb is a tremendous Christian wife and mother. I bought two of her books one for my daughter and one for me.

Quick, interesting read

"Surrender All: Your Answer To Living with Peace, Power & Purpose" by Joni Lamb is a fairly quick, easy read that at times can come across as a little trite especially if you have recently suffered a type of crisis or tragedy in your life that she addresses in the book. However, just when you decide that she is oversimplifying some of life's greatest struggles, Mrs. Lamb will surprise you with a thought-provoking statement.

She discusses surrender in several areas of our lives such as marriage, children, career, and loss. Joni recounts dramatic, almost unbelievable at times, stories of extraordinary people who have had to surrender to God in the most difficult of circumstances. In fact, some of the stories she shares could have entire books written about them and really couldn't be covered in depth enough in this book which left me feeling as though she were a little bit flippant with them.

She also uses her own personal experience to share her uplifting, encouraging message of surrendering your all to God. Joni constantly reassures us that God will mend and restore all aspects of our lives including finances, health and relationships if we will just surrender them to Him. However, she is also very careful to make sure we understand that God hasn't promised us a life of ease as His children and that surrender doesn't guarantee a worry-free existence. Sometimes she flirts a little with the "prosperity gospel" or "name it and claim it theology" but mostly her advice seems to be grounded in Scripture. Most importantly, she makes sure to share the most significant story of surrender: Jesus.

Overall, Mrs. Lamb's book is an interesting read that should encourage you to examine your own life for areas that need surrender in order to bring about the peace you are longing for.

Good Resource

It doesn't cover any fresh theoretical or analytical ground, but this book provides a good historical summary of the weaponization of sound in the 20th and early 21st centuries. Although scholarly, the writing has energy and mostly avoids humanities-style impenetrability. Careful citations and good footnotes point the interested reader toward more thorough studies. While I haven't read the original French, I don't imagine that much was lost on the way over to English. Pretty good!

Great food for thought.... Really HITS HOME. Could definitely see the Barney theme "I Love You" being used in conjunction with Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" as part of some guilt driven psy-war campaign. Call NSA, dgaf.

About the Author
Ron Adler is professor emeritus at Santa Barbara City College, where he has taught interpersonal communication, business and professional communication, and communication theories. In addition to teaching, Adler has co-authored and has edited several textbooks that address communication contexts and topics including interpersonal communication, small group communication, public speaking, assertiveness, and social skills. In addition to writing and teaching, he works with professional and business people to improve their communication on the job.

Russell F. Proctor II is currently a professor at Northern Kentucky University, where he has taught since 1991. He primarily teaches courses in Interpersonal Communication (basic and advanced), and Interviewing. He won the university's Outstanding Professor Award in 1997. He is the author of numerous articles and textbooks focusing on interpersonal communication and communication education, with a particular interest in the use of feature films as instructional resources.

WARNING: Kindle Edition Missing Significant Parts of Book Due to "Copyright Restrictions"

I got this book for a course I am taking. Unfortunately, there are several excepts and related material that are omitted from the Kindle edition due to "Copyright Restrictions". The book itself is quite good, but if you end up being quizzed on or otherwise need these sections, you may be caught with your proverbial pants down. I wonder how long before publishers realize that these hassles are often the reason why people don't trust purchasing digital material.

Amazon should NOT sell this as the "Kindle Edition" of the printed book without at least clearly advertising that the book is missing material.

INCLUDES workbook/manual - Cheaper than both the hardcover book or separate manual

This is a really great deal. Each chapter in the book has the *manual* pages so you don't need to buy each product separately. You'll save a lot by buying this book (unless you find a friend who already has the hardcover book, then you can buy a used workbook).
The only difference from the hardcover book is that the pages are in black and white instead of in color. But who cares? Be realistic, you need this for a class, and then once the semester is over you'll never look at it again. The pages are properly numbered and coincide with the hardcover, so if your instructor tells you to turn to page #100, it'll be there like the hardcover book.

This book's layout is nicely designed and it is physically well crafted. That being said it is fairly basic in the information it provides. Although the 25 topics chosen are of interest, there is little in depth knowledge presented. Each chapter, covering one topic, is approximately 8-11 pages long. Each of these chapters begins with an intro paragraph and then is supported by two warfare examples. These examples range anywhere from six paragraphs to two or three pages and is then followed by your standard summary paragraph. Overall, this undergrad paper written on tactics feels like light reading. If you are even vaguely familiar with the 25 tactics or battlefield examples presented in this book you won't learn much. The 113 photographs are nice but don't be fooled by the so called 28 battle plans; each warfare example has a map but they are quite small, between 3-5 inches square, and are not very detailed. I'm sure the authors of this book are quite knowledgeable but don't order this if you are expecting anything more than a introductory type of read. The History Book Club carries this book equaling less $.

Lands short of target.

The book is printed on heavy stock paper which looks impressive but I have so far found that the overall substance of the book is not that rewarding. This may be of interest for someone looking for a very introductory lesson on the guiding principals of warfare but an in depth book it is not. The lack of opposing or supportive counter positions leaves large gray areas. Not a bad read but I was really expecting much more considering the number of pages. Taking the pictures and such out the book was not more than 125 pages of insight.

I bought this book to help with A.I. tactics and recreate world terrains used in the past to assist in wins/defeats but this book has some really good insight into battles and battlefields
