Perfect for Novice or Pro

Although I'm not a professional sound engineer, I very much enjoyed this book and have had fun tinkering with some software I've recently downloaded for my iMac. It really is amazing the differences that can be created with just a few modifications, as Mr. Clarke has pointed out in his useful guide. I can well imagine it would be very productive for someone with the proper equipment and a small studio.

In terms of the writing and layout, I don't think he could have done a better job presenting his tips. The directions were even quite easy for me to follow - a total novice. I downloaded a copy when he had it available as a promotional item, but it would be worth the cost for anyone interested in sound recording and small studio work. This is a highly recommended product for amateur or pro. I've had fun with it.

Great stuff, Mr Clarke

I am a musician, singer, songwriter, producer and have a home studio. I have had a number of songs on radio in my country. Having learned how to use my DAW effectively and how to use plug-ins and effects, I wanted to learn how to mix properly so that I could get better, wider, deeper punchier mixes, so that I could put my personal stamp on my songs.
I purchased Amos Clarke's kindle books - both that he has written and have truly benefited by his knowledge. I do know that one can learn a lot by experimenting on one's own, but if there is somebody out there who can cut to the chase and teach you great mixing techniques, why spend hours and hours scratching your head when he can help instantly to broaden your horizons on the said subject.

This was not way to useful for my level i guess. However, there are good tips for beginners. "Macro mixing for small studio" seemed more filled with really interesting approaches and advices.

About the Author
R. Duane Ireland is a University Distinguished Professor and holder of the Conn Chair in New Ventures Leadership in the Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. He teaches strategic management courses at all levels. He has more than 200 publications. His research, which focuses on diversification, innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, strategic entrepreneurship, and the informal economy, has been published in an array of journals. He has served as a member of multiple editorial review boards and is a former editor of the Academy of Management Journal. He has been a guest editor for 12 special issues of journals. He is a past president of the Academy of Management. Dr. Ireland is a fellow of the Academy of Management and a fellow of the Strategic Management Society. He is a research fellow in the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers and received an award in 1999 for Outstanding Intellectual Contributions to Competitiveness Research from the American Society for Competitiveness. He received the Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar Award from Syracuse University in 2005, the USASBE Scholar in Corporate Entrepreneurship Award from USASBE in 2004, and the Riata Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar award from Oklahoma State University in 2014. He received awards for the best article published in Academy of Management Executive (1999), the Academy of Management Journal (2000), and the Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship (2010). He received an Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Research from Texas A&M University (2012). In 2014, Dr. Ireland was listed as a Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher (a listing of the world's most influential researchers), and he was also listed as one of The World's Most Influential Scientific Minds (a listing of the top cited researchers in science around the globe).

Useful but verbose

I bought this book for an entrepreneurship class, and I don't regret using it at all. It had plenty of useful information in it, but just as anything business-related, it's extremely wordy and takes forever to read. I ended up reading the first few sentences of every paragraph rather and getting about the same information out of it.

Easy to read. Colorful. Simple text style and setup. Lots of real life examples. The cases at the end of the chapters are useful for assessing what you just read.

However, the book could use some more in-depth breakdown of a Feasibility Analysis and a Business Plan.

Good training to prep for a Zoo breakout

A real page turner!!!! Couldn't put it down as I sat in my bunker, counting ammo and canning food. I have a suspicion that this book is a cover for some kind of Bigfoot capture op, but not sure. Interesting how the East German team took a lunch break in the middle of the competition - must be due to the lack of an incentive system. Sad to read about how the wife of one of the competitors was making fun of the shooting skills of her man and made the comments to another competitor...............I've been there, but on the other side - the pain is the same.

This book is quick read, I found this it informative and exciting. As a hunter and long range enthusiast, the idea of this challenge is very appealing. I felt like a participant as I read the narrative and looked at the pictures. The photos were amazing for detail on the tools of the trade and for capturing the incredible terrain. For anyone interested in long range shooting, I highly recommend this book. I would give this 6 stars if Amazon would let me.

Vowinkel really knows his stuff. I was transported back to my glory days of working with my RGR BN Sniper Teams. It helped that this book is loaded with great pictures that puts me in the field with the competitors. However, this is not a book for the Yahoo-Rambos out there. The author has too much respect for the competition, tools of the trade, safety, and people involved for that and it comes through in this book. A true delight written by a true professional.

I got this book because after the attacks on 9/11 God spoke to me personally about Edom/Esau in Malachi 1:4. I thought that maybe this book would shed more light, and it was good but God had already said to me what he was going to say. If you have never contemplated the way that we can be moved by the evil one to forsake our birthright for a bowl of soup then this book may be a real eye opener.

I enjoyed reading these letters. Bonnard told Matisse he couldn't work like Matisse. They both talk about their interest in windows.The difficulty of getting together in war time. They both aided each other with enthusiasm for painting.Matisse visited Bonnard at Le Cannet at Bonnard's studio.His studio is at the top of a hill ..mountain.I went to Le Cannet to try and see his place but, I would have had to cross private property.The Tobacconist on Bonnard Avenue told me where it was.It is an area where wealthy people live.There is a letter that Matisse wrote saying that Bonnard is a GREAT ARTIST.The letters encompass many years, when Klee died in 1940 Matisse told Bonnard , an artist of great sensitivity has died.Bonnard was modest about his abilities . Bonnard was older than Matisse . They had similar backgrounds, socially and educationally. Both studied the law.Both worked in Illustration,creating some of the greatest illustrated books of the 20th century.Both revered Renoir.For an intimate view of the minds of two of France's greatest artist read these letters.I found it worthwhile . Especially on their discussion of "windows".

This is a truly lovely book. If you're interested in the French Impressionists and Post-Impressionists it's a must read. The later letters written when the two painters were suffering the ravages of old age are infinitely inspiring.
