About the Author

He and Sarah have been married since 1973 and have three adult children. She sat there thinking if anything was going to change, if anything was going to get better, but she knew more than not it wasn’t. Excellent book! I highly recommend it! This book explains how men and women interpret what is being verbalized differently. Women can learn how what they say may be negatively targeting a man's most deepest need for respect without realizing it, thus hurting him beyond their comprehension. Very enlightening, this couple does a fantastic job of elaborating how the genders look at things differently. Different is not bad necessarily, just different. There is value added when the differences can be appreciated and understood. Use them to your advantage!

The subject matter in this book I have not ever heard discussed anywhere else, ever.

It is a hard cover book, really great for discussion groups. I learned a lot reading this and then discussing it with others.

Tanis began his professional career as a water treatment engineer in 1966 and during his 34 years in the industry has worked directly in industrial water systems in all 48 Continental United States, Alaska, all provinces of Canada, plus 19 other countries, including those in Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Central and South America. Since 1987 Mr. Tanis has been an executive with General Chemical Corporation in Parsippany, New Jersey.

SPECTACULAR source material on ghosts!

Lavater has provided us some beautiful source material on the paranormal, viewed from a 16th century perspective. It really is fascinating to see how people thought about ghosts nearly a half-millennium ago. While the work bogs itself down a bit in Catholic-bashing (the Reformation was in full swing!) Lavater still manages some brilliant insight, tight logic, and a critical approach that would almost do James Randi proud. Almost.

The non-standard spelling common at the time of translation make this book a bit of a challenge to read at first, but with a little persistence, it can be mastered. Wilson's introduction on Elizabethan spiritism and Yardley's epigraph on the Protestant vs Catholic conflict as it played out with reference to ghosts are both very enlightening and well researched.

As the title implies, the focus of the book has changed from electron microdiffraction, or convergent beam electron diffraction, to electron nanodiffraction and the applications of electron diffraction from single crystals as well as general structure analysis of single crystals, powders, and nanostructures.�Advanced Transmission Electron Microscopy�provides a comprehensive treatment of theory and practice, and is written at a level suitable for advanced undergraduate students and graduate students and researchers in materials science, chemistry, and physics. Practical guides are provided for interpretation and simulation of electron diffraction patterns.

About the Author
Jian-Min Zuo received his Ph.D. in Physics from Arizona State University in 1989. He is Racheff Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Illinois, he was a research scientist in Physics at Arizona State University and a visiting scientist to a number of universities and institutes in Germany, Japan and Norway. His current research topics include nanostructured materials and their structure determination, ferroelectric crystals, diffraction tomography, in-situ and fast electron microscopy. He is the recipient of the 2001 Burton Award of the Microscopy Society of America, Ruska prize of 2015 from German Microscopy Society and fellow of American Physical Society.
John C. H. Spence received his PhD in Physics from Melbourne University in Australia, followed by a postdoc in Materials Science at Oxford, UK. He is Snell Professor of Physics at Arizona State University, where he teaches condensed matter physics. He is a Foreign Member of the Royal Society and Australian Academy, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His research interests are in new forms of microscopy, diffraction physics, materials science, condensed matter physics and structural biology. He is currently Director of Science for the NSF Science and Technology Center on the development of X-ray lasers for biology (BIoXFEL).

The best book in explaining electron diffraction. It explains every detail for CBED pattern/image simulation. It's an excellent reference book for electron microscopy expert, but may be difficult to read for beginners.
