This is the smaller paperback version of the book - find the original hardcover instead from 1998. VERY explicit photos!

There are actually FOUR versions of this same book printed, this is the cheap paperback version - find the first one, which is hardcover and doesn't have "Volume I" written on the cover. When this was first published in 1998, Taschen had no idea they'd do an entire series, so the first printing was simply called "Roy Stuart," it's a large format hardback, and it is BY FAR the biggest and best edition of this book. The same book, this paperback version appeared as "Roy Stuart Volume I" in 2003 and it's much smaller and has a much lower printing quality. Spend the extra time to find the original hardback, it is far superior to the later hardback printings and the paperback versions.
That said, some people call Stuart's work "exotic" or "sexy" or any number of things, but as a photographer myself who does a pretty fair amount of boudoir and lingerie photography, be VERY aware, this is not boudoir or lingerie or pin-up photography, this is very well photographed porn - pure and simple. This is NOT a book for the meek or modest, but it's a darned impressive piece of work if you appreciate this sort of thing.

Great photos by a master

From an objective viewpoint "erotica" and pornography" are synonyms for the same thing, except that the first is associated more with art than the second. Thus this portfolio of photos highlighting female sexuality where like a film director Roy Stuart carefully arranges everything in the shot. His female models are scarcely less inhibited than pornstars but are (mostly) prettier and fortunately "au naturel." (...) The models are interested in each other and don't look at the camera. I would have given 5 stars if all the photos were like this, but there are some which (purely subjectively) (...)
