I do not recommend this book for any use

I do not recommend this book for any use, especially not for scientific use. Many of the facts, especially details, in the book are not true or half true. The book is very biased. Turkey is depicted as a "hero of the book" and there is not even one critical comment on Turkish foreign or domestic policy. The worst part is when discussing Kurdish question and war with PKK (I read 3rd edition from 2012): there is not even one explanation of Turkey's actions against Kurdish people. The whole problem is not explained (which is usual in this book).
"The October 1991 elections also brought to parliament a group of 22 Kurdish MPs, elected on the SHP ticket, who then joined the People’s Labour Party (HEP), Turkey’s first distinctly pro-Kurdish party. This was closed down by order of the Constitutional Court in June 1993, but its members officially left the party shortly before this took effect and were able to set up a successor party, known as the Democracy Party (DEP). In March 1994, Tansu �iller’s government engineered the arrest of 13 of DEP’s MPs by lifting their parliamentary immunities. The party was closed down and they were charged with treason. Six of them managed to flee abroad, but the remainder were imprisoned and one was murdered." (Page 144 to 145 of 2012 edition). There is not one explanation of Turkish actions.
I think this book is waste of time and money.

Great book, lots of information.

I purchased this book for an Independent Study Project I am working on. It has plenty of information that is useful, as well as a bibliography that makes finding even more sources and information easier. Overall, highly recommended for use in school or even just if you're interested in the subject.
